went to bedok central earlier today....
was kinda pissed at the sight of malay men drinking and eating at the Indian eatery by the interchange...
their failure to practice a commandment is the reason why i shall label them as malays and not muslims...
anyway...
it's my second ramadhan in the army...
this year is absolutely much better then last year's ramadhan...
i have brothers in arms fasting together with me...
it's great to see them try...
a few actually started praying and i'm just glad and simply proud of them...
i guess the absolute challenge of fasting in the army is the need to control ourselves from swearing and getting angry...
with all due respect...
it is the army afterall...hehehe
it's cool to finally have jemaah prayers in the bunk...
what's even more exciting is the fact that the quantity of the jemaah keeps growing...
we even have people whom we hardly know joining us for prayers...
thus getting us acquainted to one another...
the month of ramadhan is definitely changing our lifestyle...
oh ya...thanks to the only cina in my bunk, ah lee, for respecting our religious practices...
btw, ah lee, if you're disturbed by the early morning prayers...then convert and join us!!!hehehe
to the rest of the muslims reading this, have a great ramadhan... :)
just something to share:
Ramadan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur-an, as a guide to mankind, also Clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put you to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.
